Who Are We?
About Us
We are a just a bunch of guys who have been searching for the Lost Rhoades and Spanish Gold for over 30 years. We have hiked all over the High Uinta Mountains, read and re-read all the books written about the mines, collected information from many other prospectors, researched online documents, archives, historical records, mining claims, maps, etc., and have amassed a large collection of data and experiences that we love to talk about with other like-minded individuals. Dan Lowe has written several books on the subject, which you can order on this website. We share our adventures on YouTube as well on our channel @lostrhoadesgold.
Our Mission
Our mission is to share our journey and knowledge with you as we search for the Carre-Shin-Ob, the sacred mine of the Indians, where Thomas and Caleb Rhoades mined gold for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints back in the mid 1800’s. Along the way, we may find some of the other lost Rhoades mines that Caleb found or even some lost Spanish mines that the Spaniards mined and took gold back to Spain from. Hopefully, you will share your information with everyone here, and together we may eventually find what we are looking for. Come join us for our Prospectors Anonymous meetings at 7 pm on the first Thursday of every month at the Mountain Home Lodge in Mountain Home, UT. If you want to stay the night after the meeting, we might have a room for you too (book a room at Mountain Home Lodge).
